Paris Birthday Solo-Trip (Sept 2024)

I wanted to explore Bordeaux and go back to Paris for my birthday, so I did!

This time, I wanted to focus on fine dining, getting a Louise Carmen notebook, checking out the Pharmacies for beauty products, and doing day trips to Giverny for Monet’s Garden and Normandy for Mont St Michel. All in 3.5 days.

I headed straight to Louise Carmen since I knew there would be a wait to purchase and design my notebooks, and then another wait to pick up the finished product. I waited maybe an hour or so to get in, even though there were only a few people in front of me. Then I came back a few hours later to pick up the final product. I LOVE my notebook and got another one as a souvenir for a friend, but I wish I had more time to choose and know more about the trinkets. Originally I had wanted a croissant, but they didn’t have it. So you’re limited to what they have in stock at the moment. It was pretty pricey but I carry this notebook with me every time I travel now. I love the leather and the color.

My first dinner: Qui Plume La Lune, “Who Plucks the Moon”

It was an outstanding meal and a great start to my trip. The servers really took care of me.

Corn soup
Tuna with seaweed, something citrusy and dashi
softest fish with the crispiest skin
palate cleanser, sorbet with tumeric
Lamb with black garlic, mushrooms, onions
Additional cheese plate
Dessert

It was easily one of the best meals of my life.

It turns out one of my friends was also in Paris with his wife, so we met up for drinks at the Little Red Door, which was one of 50 best bars in the world at the time: we waited a bit and got in.

The drinks were pretty average, didn’t really stand out amongst all the other bars in Paris, but I was glad to have tried it!
