We just had to stop by Pergamino again for their amazing coffees and tried out their breakfast. We then took a tour to Comuna 13 with Zippy Tour. Highly recommend!!! We met outside the San Javier Metro station and they took us on a walking tour while explaining the history of Medellín.
I loved the wall murals. You can also go on your own and walk around, but I really enjoyed having a knowledgeable guide taking the deep dive into the history of Comuna 13, a neighrborhood that was once the most dangerous area of Medellín. Today, it has been transformed into a vibrant hub of street art and culture.
At some parts, we took the outdoor escalators that reminded me of the ones in Hong Kong.
A lot of the art had emphasis on peace, hope, and dreams.
I made a friend on the tour and we had these ice pops together! They sold them at the many ice cream stores in Comuna 13.
We saw a set of stairs while we were up there, so we went up to check out the view.
Ended with another ice pop.
It was amazing to see how art can transform a neighborhood and its people. There’s so much more to it but you’ll just have to take the tour to find out!

oooh that looks like a stack of muffin tops
