One more day in Buenos Aires (March 2024)

As I said before, we LOVED the sandwiches from Simple, so we got one to-go for our bus ride back to El Calafate!

I got one of these handmade artisan pieces that has a Rhodochrosite in the center, which is Argentina’s national gemstone. It’s pink and is also called Inca Rose.

Went to Isabel, Cocina Al Disco. Also a recommendation from our previous hotel here in El Calafate, and it was the best meal!

The meat fell off the bones!!! SO flavorful. The potatoes were spectacular. They’re known for cooking in plow discs. It was such a traditional Argentine cuisine experience!

Flew back to Buenos Aires
I loved the architecture everywhere here
We briefly went inside the Palacio Barolo, which was an architectural gem!

Had a coffee and snack at La Panera Rosa. Such a cute cafe! Really needed a pick-me-up in the middle of the day.

We went to one of the top attractions in Buenos Aires, the Recoleta Cemetery. I didn’t understand why a cemetery would be a top attraction, but it is known as one of the most beautiful and interesting cemeteries in the world.

I overheard some of the tours taken here and they were all very interesting stories!

Went inside the famous El Ateneo Grand Splendid. In 2019, it was named the “world’s most beautiful bookstore” by the National Geographic. It is a bookstore inside a historic theater, and you can see the opulent interior, carvings, and paintings on the ceilings.

Medialunas are a traditional Argentinian pastry, sort of like a croissant but is smaller and heavier and has the shape of a “half-moon”. They were sold everywhere!

We randomly picked a place for my last steak and Malbec and landed at Caldén del soho, and it was perfect.

Every steak I’ve had in Argentina was good!

I know this isn’t Argentinian and is also a chain, but it was worth a mention because it was such good gelato! At Antiche Tentazioni.
