Pliegue Tumbado (March 2024)

We started at sunrise.

Everything was golden!

A precarious rock
The vastness
Moomoos
Mirador
I was so hungry I took out my sandwich and took a bite
The last ascent was pretty tough, but doable! The trekking poles definitely helped a lot.
Got to the top
The view
The sandwich
Mayo chips! SO good
Another day, another empanada
Mate experience

We got a yerba mate at La Esquina. The waitress there explained how to steep it, so I did it myself. You have to pour the water in a little at a time, just enough for it to foam up. I only saw locals drink it and this was the only time I saw it offered on the menu. Not sure why since it’s the national drink in Argentina!

Went to Don Guerra for dinner.

Thought the label looked really cool, also it’s an IPA!
Fondue!

Tomorrow, we leave El Chalten to go back to El Calafate to fly back to Buenos Aires for one last day there!
