Buenos Aires: La Boca & Fogón Asado (March 2024)

Ever since I went to Patagonia Chile side, I’ve always wanted to come back to this part of the world for the Argentina side. We landed in Buenos Aires and started to explore La Boca area.

This neighborhood was so colorful and so much street art.

We went to Mercado San Telmo for some snacks.

Choripan – The Iconic Argentine Sandwich that has chorizo in it.

I really loved the buildings I saw briefly in BA. Even the Starbucks are beautiful!

Got some ice cream – had to try dulce de leche because that’s what they’re known for here.

Went to Fogon Asado for dinner.

It was quite an experience! I loved the food here. And the service was impeccable as well. I loved that they designed the seating around the kitchen bar so that everyone gets a view of the action.

Tasting menu
Gin welcome cocktail
We made our own chimichurri
They showed the different cuts of meats we were about to devour
I got the premium wine pairing, which only cost $35!! What a steal!
Ricotta with eggplant
Provoleta cheese with grilled fruit
Roasted tomatos, ginger sauce
Tiny versions of choripan
Slow braised asado
Pork flank steak
Pine cone smoked ribeye cap
Ribeye
Dessert wine
Pancake with dulce de leche

So happy I got to try a bunch of Argentinian wine, which paired perfectly with steak. I loved the open kitchen and service too!
