Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, was my last stop before heading to Cambodia.
We flew from Hoi An to HCMC.
We walked around the Ben Thanh Market briefly, which was located in the center of the city. It’s an architecture gem, like many others I’ve come to find in HCMC. Then we found food at a food court called Ben Nghe Street Food.
After I overate, we walked over to the War Remnants Museum. I wasn’t expecting much because I didn’t know anything about it, but it was quite extraordinary. I especially enjoyed the photography exhibitions. I learned so much about the Vietnam War and its aftermath. It was so moving I teared up at the end.
I’m not sure how I had room to fit any more food, but I continued.
Went to the Cu Chi Tunnel – probably the most eye-opening tour I’ve ever been on.
We went into the tunnels and came out the other way.
After the tour, we had free time. So I HAD to find a McDonald’s to fulfill my travel McD quota. I must say, McDs in Asia are just on a whole ‘nother level.
Fried chicken wings, ketchup & garlic chili sauce, bac xiu (Saigon style coffee milk) – SO GOOD
“Medium” fries here are small fries in America…
