SF, Monterey, Big Sur, San Jose (June 2023)

Stopped by Marin Headlands, saw a proposal.

SF Chinatown – this was probably my 3rd time visiting SF Chinatown, and it felt so nostalgic.

Went back to one of my favorite places in SF to get big dim sum – Good Mong Kok Bakery.

So big.

Stopped by Fisherman’s Wharf

Walked in for dinner at Burma Superstar. We were one of the first ones to get in. It’s still as hyped as they first opened years ago.

Everything was so good! This was a Burmese shrimp curry.

After dinner, I drove us to Monterey and rested for the night.

In the morning, we got in line at this coffee shop called Captain + Stoker – it was so hipster, in a warehouse looking place with bikes around. Very Brooklyn.

We walked around Monterey, which was a beautiful coastal city that had the famous Cannery Row.

Walked along the shores and this town was so quaint and serene.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium was the highlight.

After the aquarium, we headed to Point Lobos State Natural Reserve.

We climbed on the rocks for a bit and listened to the water splash against the cliffs.

I drove on the famous Highway 1, also known as the Pacific Coast Highway.

Bixby Bridge

It was like a dream. I had been wanting to do this for years.

Partington Cove

I love the water.

I couldn’t drive the entire highway 1 because of road closures and more importantly, we had to get back to SFO that night for our red-eye flight back to NYC. So we stopped by San Jose for some amazing Viet food at Banh Cuon Tay Ho.

This was one of my favorite Vietnamese dish ever, and I can’t find any good ones in NY! Key word: good.

This was one of the best trips ever because I was able to check off so many things I had been wanting to do for years. Would come back and do it all over again (but maybe not in one packed week)!
